Walter the Bulldog

Everyone! Meet our dog Walter. He is an 87 pound bulldog who is also 7 years old (geeeeeeze Mom, just throwing the weight and the age out there). I try to remind him that he is all muscle and it's the way God made him. Regardless, he's a little insecure about his figure so sometimes he gets on the treadmill.

Other times he is being harassed by his Dad. Case in point: LB put Walter in a tree. Walter gave me permission to narrate his thoughts about this whole experience.

I am not going to fit up here Dad. Look how far back my ears are.

OMG. You really are going to make me get up here.

I guess I might as well hit you with my fiercest model face while I am up here.

Ok. I am just getting hungry now.

Treana here: the poor guy is tortured all the time, but he's our crazy, giant, sweet-ish, stinky, lovable Walter. Walter and Skipper have demanded that more of their ~~torture~~ adventures be shared here because they never fail to remind us that they are the ones that ultimately brought LB and I together. To that they say: "na na na boo boo. :p"

The Life of Skipper: The Beagle Dog

Everybody, let me properly introduce my Skipper dog. Skip is a one of a kind beagle. I got him for $250 back in Washington about 7+ years ago (sorry to just out your age like that) and he is well... he is this... on couches, in his bed, or, his favorite... on people. All Skippy ding ding wants in life is to snuggle humans. And eat.

Every square inch of the backyard.

He's also a little pissed at being left out of the wedding.

And this picture just sends him over the edge.

He's so mad about it in fact that he has no choice, but to try to sleep it off. His rage is obvious.

I said he wants to sleep LB, stop taking pictures of him.

See! Sleeping time. Skip is snuggles, sniffing, and sleep. The perfect beagle. He even has his own Instagram hashtag: #snugglyskipper. He's a big deal like that.

I never understood that all kids are miracles when I was growing up. I didn’t have parents who... well any of it. And yet, I never really feared becoming a parent because I was going to do it better (have you met me?). And then God gave me this

This incredibly hilarious, loving, strong, gorgeous miracle. We’ve been trying to give her a sibling for on and off two years now while still doing it “better”. So here’s what I know for sure this Mother’s Day: love yourself no matter how you became a mom. Love how you parent from a place of love and forever tries. If you’re lucky enough to have a mom who loved you, the best she could, try to love her for that too. Love those miracles you’ve got. And rest today in the knowledge that you just are doing it better— own that. Happy Mother’s Day to all. If you can’t get to happy today, you’re good sis. Get off the social media and get some good air into those lungs— Mother’s Day is hard. I see you.
