Wedding Project: Welcome Bags

Ummmmmm. How amazing are my friends? Oh, you don't know? Well, let me tell you... Ms. Katie Mae took the wedding weekend welcome bags that I had purchased, free-hand copied the wedding logo from our Save the Dates, and then created a stencil out of the logo and viola! (My friends are awesome part 2: I sent a text to my bridesmaids and Katie, asking if they would want to come craft on Sunday, and all of them are showing up. I. Am. So. Lucky.) Wedding welcome bags are ready to be stuffed with goodies:

Here is what I think is going to go in them:

The do not disturb door hangers I made
The thank you strips of paper
Weekend Itinerary! (I need to make this.... and include a link to our wedding website)
2 bottles of water: one regular, one vitamin water
2 granola bars
Travel candle
Trader joe's hand lotion
Tylenol and Ib-profen
Emergenceeeeeeee
Downtown Breck Map
Chocolate from Trader Joe's
Small liquor bottle
Perhaps, bottle of Breck Brewery beer-- likely instead of the liquor... high altitude folks!

I never understood that all kids are miracles when I was growing up. I didn’t have parents who... well any of it. And yet, I never really feared becoming a parent because I was going to do it better (have you met me?). And then God gave me this

I never understood that all kids are miracles when I was growing up. I didn’t have parents who... well any of it. And yet, I never really feared becoming a parent because I was going to do it better (have you met me?). And then God gave me this miracle. This force of a human. This incredibly hilarious, loving, strong, gorgeous miracle. We’ve been trying to give her a sibling for on and off two years now while still doing it “better”. So here’s what I know for sure this Mother’s Day: love yourself no matter how you became a mom. Love how you parent from a place of love and forever tries. If you’re lucky enough to have a mom who loved you, the best she could, try to love her for that too. Love those miracles you’ve got. And rest today in the knowledge that you just are doing it better— own that. Happy Mother’s Day to all. If you can’t get to happy today, you’re good sis. Get off the social media and get some good air into those lungs— Mother’s Day is hard. I see you.
